Copy 03:49
[Chorus] How many copies can you copy, before you know it's a copy that you're copyin'? Look at the copies that you copied, can you see it's a copy that you're copyin'? [verse 1] Since forever I've been wonderin' who the hell would deliberately, do the things that make you copy another down to delivery. Praise individual style, not high profile, who in the their right mind would take you seriously with no smile? We don't care how many hits that you bring home, or how many people got that shit on their ringtone. I swear I heard that all before word for word, you can't teach those people they just can't be learned. Now I'm second-guessin' every second lesson that's why I was messin', but these pressin' issues got me worried I'm confessin'. Do I need to keep professin' it's my nature but, what's the point to repeat the best parts til I hate your guts? Feels like it's awfully widespread, there's no stoppin it, no blockin' it in my head, I'm pretty positive. These are the times to maybe quit the fallacy, this is strictly for those who need a grip on reality. Goin' with the same stencils & blueprints, & cookie cutter templates cuz they cant think of new shit. All the kids dream, no doubt convinced they're pristine, regardless what you mighta heard, little man, your shit stinks. We got charlatans thinkin' they're gonna take over the parliament, I've put in too much work for us to have to fuckin' start again. The best part is when they lose the sensation, & cut out all of that duplication. [chorus] [verse 2, part 1] What a state we're in now, it's bad enough as it is, I just wish they'd do somethin' about all these damn kids. Takin' as many of the latest trends as they can, makin' Hip Hop in a can for a bonus dedicated fan. It's everywhere I look, prob'ly even my own shit, but it was an accident I didn't mean to clone it. Imitation can be flattering but almost a crime to do incessantly, I've been trying to avoid that from '89 to the presently. Just as well to treat the new shit as a parody, cuz most of it is stolen & forced into popularity. Used to get a peek at it all, watchin' Rap City & such, now I can't hardly stomach to fuckin' put it on Much. Those overlappin' vocals & effects don't ever jive, see I never record nothin' I can't reproduce live. Little loops goin forever that's too many repetitions, so do somethin' more clever with your musical compositions. [bridge] You can still, be catchy, without some naggin hook. Just give your rhymes a second look & put words where they should be put. You need to, stop takin, everyone elses sound. Just do your own thing, & I won't have to put you down. [verse 2, part 1] You know you made it when you become overrated, don't even try to debate it cuz it's a fact that I have stated, but ya don't know the half of it, no offense, so let's all have laugh now at your expense. You're fooled easily so let me tell you to your face, & just because you call it Hip Hop doesn't mean that is the case. Go ahead & find yourself your own gimmick to shape, it's exhaustin' watchin' good MC's get mimic'd & aped [chorus] x2 How many copies can you copy, before you know it's a copy that you're copyin'? Look at the copies that you copied, can you see it's a copy that you're copyin'? Too many copies that you copy, do you know it's a copy that you're copyin'? How many copies will you copy, before you see it's a copy that you're copyin'? [bridge] [chorus] x2

Dum Dum 03:28
http://www.myspace.com/letter10music MC from Corner Brook, Newfoundland. I write & record/mix all my own lyrics & music [usually without any samples] Check out one of my 2 new tracks. sorry for the poor sound quality., it's only my 2nd 'video'. . Lyrics below [explicit language] -This one is dedicated to all the stupid people. All the idiots & morons. You know who you are. I'm gonna tell you how dumb I am. Check it out.- [verse 1] So you're a fan of the man but you can't understand, that this thought process can make a mess of his plans. On the other hand it doesn't quite phase me, I'm lazy, most of the time but not always. Be it distractions like a movie or a videogame yes, I got nobody else to blame but myself for my lameness. A few synapses aren't firin' with the speed they used to, & the lapses in memory from all the weed's an excuse too. And I can admit I've been guilty of hopin', that I might impress a few with my intelligence quotient. Even wishin' it were proven 10's always on top, but I find myself second guessin' me a lot. Sometimes try to devise solutions to problems, when all too often I'm the one who's caused 'em. Collidin' with other styles like a sideswipe, back & forth like a firefight, tryin to reach a higher height. Maybe it's just not somethin' that I can achieve, or it'll happen when I tell myself not to believe. That's the way it seems to be with fuckin' everything else, guess I'm stuck in place waitin' til the fucking ice melts. Bidin' my time but I'm givin' a shit, keep writin' this rhyme & just livin' a bit. And I still find it so fascinating, that I spend a lotta days procrastinating. Even writin' at work I can rarely gain a lot, without people fuckin' interruptin' my train of thought. Takin' so long just to get one done, I end up feelin' like a goddamn dum dum. [Chorus 1] It's drives me crazy, writin' new shit. Say it out loud, it sounds stupid. I dont think I can do this I'm clueless. When I write new shit it sounds stupid. -you know what? fuck that. I changed my mind- [verse 2] I don't need to freestyle makin' music like I do, still writin' some of the best rhymes you heard in a long time too. It's not that often you get the whole package completely lackin' in the wackage. You're well aware I have an issue with speed, but I will be as fuckin' quick as I need. This has been so many years in the makin' no idea what's been takin' me so long but I need to get shakin' no fakin'. Not settlin' for any less than perfection, no question, I don't mind makin' corrections. I got the super high quality mistake detection, even though people hardly make the connection. So Letter 10 does it better than a lot could, you're fuckin' crazy if you think I think I'm not good. Should this be the last time I remind you stone fools, that as a pastime I define my own rules. It's all changed so much after 2 decades, I'll take responsibility when this whole mess fades. Wish I hadn't been so long to come save the day, now here I finally am & ready to pave the way. Samples are rare in any part of my tracks, 99 percent of the time I'd rather start from scratch. It takes a lot to match me no matter where you come from, bother if you wanna be a fuckin' dum dum. [Chorus 2] x4 It drives you crazy, when I write new shit. Say it out loud, it's not stupid. If you don't think I can do this you're clueless. When I write new shit it's not stupid.

http://www.myspace.com/letter10music MC from Corner Brook, Newfoundland. I write & record/mix all my own lyrics & music [this track does contain samples]. I recorded this during this summer & was happy to finally use samples from my favorite singer/songwriter Nina Nastasia. ---Samples taken from the Nina Nastasia song 'All For You' from the album 'the Blackened Air'. Samples owned by Nina Nastasia/Touch & Go Records ( http://www.tgrec.com/ )--- Do yourself a favor & listen to her amazing work. video contains only photos so you can read the lyrics. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Chorus) X2 We need to speak on the matter at hand & when things get bleak you can flatter the man -Verse 1- Let me extend an invitation to you kind folk, stick together so nobody's left behind. Was the place hard to find? I gave you pretty clear directions, & if you followed 'em correctly then you should've avoided detection. Only a select few I care to see attend, & I never worry too much what the others got to spend. We don't have to bother with the typical formal greetings, & if you're sittin' comfortably let's get started with the meeting. We got a lot of ground to cover so we're bound to be here a while, it's all about the subject matter at hand and the style. Somebody left Hip Hop on the table overnight, & I shouldn't have to explain how that's wasteful or I might. I've placed a lot of emphasis on idiocy, previously, maybe I'll try to lay off a bit in the future, we'll see. Just dont begin commandin' me, demandin' me to be lenient, you need to understand I'm not obedient I'm a deviant. Even speedy when I need to be believe me yes indeed, the proceeding planted a seed to keep the scheme of things agreed. How did I begin to develop this nonsensical jibberish? Can you blame me for not bein' sensible? I'm a little skittish. Hardly finished but when I am you'll be the first informed, it'll happen pretty abruptly so don't say that you weren't warned. It's a little warm so I'll slow down to please & appease you, but don't think that I will never tease you. (Chorus) X2 -Verse 2- Now the next rhyme to follow won't be hard to swallow, it'll come across easily unless your head is hollow. It's pretty obvious I don't measure my worth by my brawn, since it's already evident I'm not exactly Mr. Strong. I'm not a weak or bad person it's just the way that I've been branded, sometimes I can't even tell if I'm left or right or under-handed. I could never understand it but now that I'm older it's kinda clear, I'm so fuckin' different, now these people are gripped with fear. But do I even really warrant memos, flyers & bulletins when there's so many other dangerous cleptos, liars & hooligans? Sure I'm hangin' loose in the saggin' clothes, & I will be that way til I got a tag on my toes. I gotta leave at a moment's notice but I think I can make my peace, as long as I'm compensated for my so-called expertise. But now the perp is gone (for shame) he lost his life but nobody missed it, the ultimate way to say goodbye is to forget you even existed. (chorus) X2

True Grit 04:13
[VERSE 1] The day I started rappin' the animals stopped & stared, the wind stopped blowin' & the rain froze in the air. I was, one with nature back before there was haters, when Hip Hop was pure without sharks & alligators. Lex Luthors & Darth Vaders seem like they runnin' the show now, we need more artists with true grit & know how. 'Cuz I don't get where you're comin' from, seein' that pop like bubble gum, even our hip hop is gettin' on the somethin' somethin'. While G's would rather be commitin' robberies & felonies I prefer designin' rhymes creatin' beats & makin' melodies. If I don't sound conventional it's cuz I don't want to sound that way, so sick of people askin' me what instruments I play. Disaster's averted when the bastards are hurted, the faster I word it helps to capture deserters. And, if I close my eyes for just one second I could fall asleep, & maybe I will dream of more benefits to reap. Half scrapin' through this life with barely a nickel to my name, on the lookout of who just may be so fickle in the game. I keep hearin' that voice callin' out my name, I need to have fame with pride & even shame. Failure's not an option but that's just so clichéd & sayin' something is clichéd is even clichéd nowadays. Avoidin' phrases like those is complex, payin' no attention to it puttin' words into text & then, text to speech things are subtle what I teach, & the astounding ability for everybody to be reached if they choose to take advantage of the space they occupy, what I tell you is truth & not a lie. A lotta times the art is lost 'cuz of a simple lack of grace & the longest lastin' fad is bullshit to save face. It'd be funny to see who's got the record for most idle threats, & who actually follows through & probably has no regrets. I never say anything I don't mean unless I'm lyin', it's so easy to forget about what everybody is buyin'. I am, puttin' down my foot no more of this fuckin' around with emotions, I'll devastate you all like tsunamis in the ocean. {CHORUS} Music makes the world go round, just as long as it is not too loud. The world makes the music go round, the dull, bland & colorless are just not allowed. Lead the man who follows to the end, keep the hope of makin' a new friend. Follow the man who leads to the end, you got the chance to create your own blend. [VERSE 2] So much content on all levels is just visual its, the music 'seen' no one hears where's the visceral. Miserable watchin' the young & hopeless passin' time this is where we've been headin' while I honed this craft of mine? My reaction time didn't allow for me to prepare much, but what I have done so far is gonna have to be enough. I've discovered the right combination while you were waitin' like chemicals flowin' through your veins, pupils dilatin'. In other words you'll see all the shit that's been there all along, instead of the silly tryin' to be a well-meaning song. You know I'm not jokin' isn't it thought provokin' how many are just concerned with the next hot colloquialism. See I promised I wouldn't be invisible as time passed by creating no shadows like an overcast sky It suddenly came to me I can't really think back that far who am I to know anything about raising the bar? I guess I miss the days of the sensible instrumental every element as important as all the others quintessential Never any question of any possible death-fakin' there's no end for it all in sight & the scenery is breathtaking {chorus}
